General Cable Introduces TRU-MARK™ Category Cable Footage Marking System
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KENTUCKY — General Cable has announced that it will offer the TRU-Mark™ footage marking system of numerical printing on the cable jacket of its enhanced PlatinumPLUSTM Category 5e and CommandLINX® 6 Category 6 copper data networking cables. This enhanced product feature indicates the exact length of cable so that installers do not waste time pulling wire that is too short. It also allows installers to optimize their wire inventory by choosing the right length of wire for the job.
"This sequential marker will be clearly printed on the jacket starting with 1000’ and descending to 0’, letting the contractor or installer know how much cable is remaining," said Paul Ratcliffe, Product Manager, Data Communications, Premise Products. "We believe that this feature will eliminate second-guessing resulting in time and money saved."
