General Cable Corporation (NYSE:BGC received two awards from the Web Marketing Association’s 10th annual WebAward Competition for its newly redesigned North American Web site. 

The Web Marketing Association judged more than 2,300 Web sites from 35 countries, which were judged in 96 industry categories during this year's WebAward Competition. Entries were evaluated by three or more expert judges who based their scores on top Web site design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.  Scoring is 0 to 70 points.

General Cable’s site,, received a Standard of Excellence Award in both the Business-to-Business (B2B) and Manufacturing categories.  The Company’s overall scores in both categories were 58 out of 70, with the WebAward averages being 50.9 respectively.  The industry average for B2B was 49.8, while it was 48.8 in Manufacturing.
