Highland Heights, Kentucky – November 1, 2006
– General Cable has announced the promotion of Roger A. Roundhouse to the position of Senior Vice President, Specialty Wire Harnesses.  Roundhouse, who was formerly a Vice President of the Company, will continue to report to Gregory B. Kenny, President and Chief Executive Officer of General Cable.

“I am pleased to announce that Roger Roundhouse has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Specialty Wire Harnesses,” said Gregory B. Kenny, President and Chief Executive Officer of General Cable.  “As a leader with an outstanding reputation for integrity and high professional standards, Roger is well deserving of this recognition. He has worked his way up through General Cable and for all of us, is an example of the power of hard work and customer focus.”

Since taking leadership of General Cable’s Automotive Business Team in December 2002, Roundhouse has expanded the business globally, both through a joint venture in Turkey (GTB) and an acquisition in Mexico (General Cable Automotriz).  In August 2004, he accepted the additional responsibility of managing General Cable’s Wire Harness & Assemblies business.

While managing both the Automotive and Wire Harness & Assemblies businesses separately, Roundhouse recognized the power of joining the two businesses and developing a “follow the wire” strategy that leverages the Company’s low-cost position in specialty high performance cables. Roundhouse combined the two businesses in June 2006 to create the new Specialty Wire Harnesses Business Team, now a large global growth area for value-added products, as well as design engineering and connectorization.

Roundhouse began his career with General Cable in 1992 as an Assistant Product Manager for the Outside Voice & Data Team.  In 1994, he joined the Automotive Team as Product Manager.  After returning from an international business assignment in Europe in 1997, he was promoted to Business Unit Manager, Automotive Products.  Roundhouse holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ohio University and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.

“Roger’s leadership, demonstrated performance, and strategic vision in bringing together the new Specialty Wire Harnesses Team have earned him this leadership position,” continued Kenny.  “Roger is passionate about continuous improvement and has become quite accomplished in spotting and delivering important and fresh business opportunities to our Company.  He is a driver of results and has built an outstanding team around him.  We are well positioned for growth in 2007 utilizing Roger’s strategy of following the needs of our global customers, who increasingly want one source for OEM requirements.”
