General Cable Names Bisson and Later Sales Vice Presidents
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KENTUCKY, May 26, 2009 – General Cable Corporation (NYSE: BGC), a Fortune 500 company and leading global supplier of wire and cable products to the energy, industrial, specialty and communications markets, announced two Sales Vice President appointments today. Thomas E. Bisson has been promoted to Vice President, Sales, Electrical Distribution, and Jeffrey P. Later has been promoted to Vice President, Sales, Electronics. Both Bisson and Later report directly to Lance G. Bates, Vice President, U.S. Sales.
“In their roles, Tom and Jeff will lead our efforts to continually grow and gain market share with the Carol® Brand wire and cable products in their respective sales channels,” says Bates. “The sales emphasis will be to continue to enhance demand for Carol portable cord and electronic products and drive that callout through the distribution channels.”
Bisson began his career in the electrical industry in 1997 with Intermatic as direct sales representative calling on the Electrical Distributors in Arizona, Nevada and California. After Intermatic, he joined the Allied Group Sales Representative Agency and continued to call on Electrical Distributors representing top electrical manufacturers, including General Cable. In 2000, he joined ILSCO as the Regional Manager for the Northeast Territory. He joined General Cable as the Director of Sales, Northeast Territory, in 2005.
Bisson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Later has over 30 years experience in sales and marketing leadership in the wire and cable industry. He began his career in 1979 with Belden and has held a number of sales and marketing positions including management of the Belden College of Wire Knowledge (BCWK) for six years. After Belden, he was Director of Marketing, Metal Management, and Business Development Manager for Lapp USA. Later joined General Cable in 2001 as Director of Sales and Marketing, Electronic Products.
Later holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
