AS ONE OF THE 10 BEST MANUFACTURING PLANTS IN NORTH AMERICA

Saskatchewan, Canada Energy Cables manufacturing facility has been selected by Penton Media's (OTCBB: PTON) INDUSTRYWEEK magazine, the leading publication among senior manufacturing executives, as one of the 10 IW Best Plants in North America. INDUSTRYWEEK’S Best Plants Award Program, started 16 years ago, is an annual salute to outstanding manufacturing facilities that are on the leading edge of efforts to increase competitiveness, enhance customer satisfaction, and create stimulating and rewarding
work environments.

General Cable’s Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada plant will receive a commemorative award during ceremonies scheduled on October 6th. The honor recognizes world-class manufacturing capabilities and a management mindset of continuous improvement. General Cable’s Moose Jaw plant was selected from over 220 facilities nominated between October 2004 and March 2005.
Plants reported practices and performance in such categories as management strategy, community involvement, customer and supplier relations, employee relations, environmental and safety programs, inventory management, manufacturing and flexibility, productivity, use of technology and market results. The top 10 selected winners report some astounding manufacturing achievements.
