Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Program

We are an employer firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO). General Cable Corporation’s EEO policy assures fair treatment for each associate regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, citizenship status, physical or mental disability (as protected by law) or sexual orientation (to the extent not contrary to any applicable law or regulation), and any other class protected by federal, state and local laws. This policy of nondiscrimination shall be applicable to matters of hiring, upgrading, promotions, transfers, layoffs, terminations, rates of pay, selection for training, recruitment, and recruitment advertising. Through our Affirmative Action Programs, we are actively working to ensure equal opportunities through all levels of the Company – which includes a work environment free of discrimination, intimidation and sexual harassment.

General Cable Corporation expects all of its officers, managers and supervisors to actively support EEO, not only to the letter, but also in the spirit of the law. Associates are encouraged to report any complaints of discrimination, intimidation, harassment or retaliation to his or her local Human Resources Department, his or her supervisor, another supervisor, a manager, or the Plant Manager. For whatever reason, if an Associate feels uncomfortable filing a complaint with any of the above listed local channels, he or she should report any complaint directly to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources at the Company’s Headquarters. All complaints which are received by the local Human Resources Department under this policy shall be reported to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Each complaint will then be investigated objectively and with as much confidentiality as possible. General Cable has a strong anti-retaliation policy and associates should report all complaints under this policy without fear of retribution.

As a federal government contractor and an Affirmative Action employer, General Cable complies with all Federal regulations concerning Affirmative Action. Because EEO and AA are integral to our business philosophy, they affect every aspect of your career with the Company. EEO and AA go beyond recruitment to encompass career goals and promotional opportunities. General Cable encourages you to be an active partner in your own career development by discussing your goals and interests with your manager, by seeking more challenging work assignments and through utilizing Company programs such as skill based training and Educational Assistance, to improve your skills and thereby take full advantage of all the Company has to offer.

It is against General Cable’s policy to discriminate in any manner against a qualified individual with a disability. This includes, but is not limited to, job application, hiring, promotion, dismissal, compensation, benefits, training and all other aspects of employment. This policy is in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Valuing all persons and recognizing all of the talent that exists is one of our keys to competitive advantage. People are our most important resource.

Through Equal Employment Opportunity and effective Affirmative Action Plans, we are striving to develop associates who are professional and diverse and who are prepared to take on business challenges that lie ahead. We ask each of you to give your full support to these programs. Together we can drive our Company to new heights of satisfaction among our associates and our customers.
